Animal-assisted therapy or intervention is one of the effective therapy where animals are used in order to treat people who have been undergoing or diagnosed with mental, emotional, physical and/or social issues. Beck and Katcher (1984) defined the animal assisted intervention as “a clear distinction should be made between emotional response to animals, that is, their recreational use, and theapy. It should not be concluded that any event that is enjoyed by the patient is kind of therapy”.
